Description
The Early Years, Primary and Secondary CPD programme offers a wide variety of courses, both as a subscription package and standalone. The courses aim to support leaders and practitioners to develop high quality provision in their own schools. Courses provide participants with opportunities to reflect, share best practice and ensure they are up to date with current pedagogies and statutory requirements.

Using Intensive Interaction to Support Pupils with an ASD in Schools

Description
This course provides an introduction to intensive interaction techniques and the rationale for using these with pupils with an ASD. Practical application in a school setting is provided.
Impact Statement

  • be supported to develop communication skills using Intensive Interaction

  • gain an in-depth knowledge of how Intensive Interaction can help children with an ASD to develop communication skills

Developing the skills of leading EYFS moderation

Description
This session is aimed at EYFS leads or qualified teachers working in the EYFS, who want to strengthen their skills as moderators.

It will focus on:
  • The skills of the moderator
  • the purposes and principles of moderation practice
  • How to lead and manage an effective moderation dialogue
  • How to establish accuracy of judgements

If you are also interested in being considered as part of future EYFS Moderation Teams you will need to have attended this session as part of the recruitment process.

  • develop their skills as a moderator
  • understand how to lead an effective moderation that maintains a focus on accuracy of judgement
Settings will:
  • benefit from moderators who understand the key principles of moderation in order to internally quality assure their own data effectively

Description
This is a discussion-focused meeting that links to current EYFS developments both nationally and locally. EYFS Leaders are able to network with colleagues and share best practice across Royal Greenwich schools and settings.

Maths and English Workshop for Years 3 and 4

Description
This session will explore best practice opportunities for developing mathematical reasoning and writing approaches in Years 3 and 4 and will include:
  • Exploration of Year 3 and 4 grammar expectations
  • Exploration of Year 3 and 4 National Curriculum expectations for mathematics to ensure progression from Year 2 to Year 6
  • Opportunities to share writing with a specific focus on grammar application
  • Opportunities to share maths learning with a specific focus on reasoning

Participants are asked to bring along samples of mathematics and writing to share and moderate with colleagues.

  • experience a range of engaging activities to support the development of their writing and mathematical reasoning skills

Description
A opportunity for Assessment leads at EYFS, KS1 and KS2 to discuss recent local and national assessment developments including:
  • Statutory assessment requirements
  • National reporting documentation including Analyse School Performance and Inspection Dashboard Summary Reports
  • Resources and materials available to support assessments
  • Best practice in using data to support school self-evaluation and prepare for inspection

Pre Key Stage standards moderation workshop

Description
During this session delegates will have an opportunity to familiarise themselves with the KS1 and KS2 Pre Key Stage standards.


The session will include:
  • An overview of the KS1 and KS2 Pre Key Stage standards for reading, writing and mathematics
  • The opportunity to moderate with other schools against the new Pre Key Stage standards

Delegates will be required to bring along samples of work from pupil(s) at their school to moderate with colleagues against the Pre Key Stage standard statements.

When considering samples of work to bring delegates may wish to focus on boarderline pupils, including those who may have evidence against the criteria for ‘Working Towards the Expected Standard’.

Staff will:

  • have greater confidence in teacher assessment judgements against the KS1 and KS2 Pre Key Stage Standards
